Botox is a popular treatment used for wrinkle reduction.
It is a purified protein which can be injected into the facial muscles, causing them to relax and the skin around them to appear smoother and more youthful. It is commonly used to remove frown lines, crows’ feet (wrinkles around the corners of the eye), forehead lines and lines around the mouth and top lip, known as ‘smoker’s lines’.
The injections are quick and painless and can be done in 5-10 minutes, with the results usually seen within a few days. As the effects wear off over time, we recommend having the procedure repeated every 3 months.
Botox can also be used to get relief from certain muscular disorders such as hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), muscular spasm and migraine.
